The Armies Form Up for the Last Day's Battle

At dawn Duryodhana orders his army to arm, and the Kaurava leaders make a compact that none of them will fight the Pandavas alone. Dhritarashtra asks Sanjaya how Shalya and Duryodhana fell. Sanjaya describes the arrays: Shalya at the head of the Kaurava host, with the other leaders on its flanks and rear, and the Pandavas advancing in three divisions. He lists the forces that remained on each side, and the battle begins.
