Krishna Counsels War; Yudhishthira's Misgivings

Yudhishthira asks Krishna, who knows the minds of both sides and has heard Kunti, Vidura and Bhishma, what course is now right for the Pandavas. Krishna answers that Duryodhana, relying on Karna, heeds no one, even tried to have him bound, and holds every evil in himself, so war is the only course left. The kings silently agree and Yudhishthira orders preparations, but then laments to Bhima and Arjuna that he must kill elders who ought not to be killed. Arjuna reminds him that Kunti and Vidura would never counsel wrong and that turning back without a fight is not right; Krishna smilingly agrees, and the Pandavas spend the night resolved on battle.
