Verse 1 (padma.3.21.1)

नारद उवाच । ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र विहगेश्वरमुत्तमम् । दर्शनात्तस्यराजेंद्र मुच्यते सर्वपातकैः

nārada uvāca tato gaccheta rājeṁdra vihageśvaramuttamam darśanāttasyarājeṁdra mucyate sarvapātakaiḥ

Narada said: Then, O lord of kings, one should go to the excellent Vihageshvara; by its sight, O lord of kings, one is freed from all sins.

Verse 2 (padma.3.21.2)

ततो गच्छेत राजेन्द्र नर्मदेश्वरमुत्तमम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्स्वर्गलोके महीयते

tato gaccheta rājendra narmadeśvaramuttamam tatra snātvā naro rājansvargaloke mahīyate

Then, O lord of kings, one should go to the excellent Narmadeshvara; having bathed there, O king, a man is honored in the heavenly world.

Verse 3 (padma.3.21.3)

अश्वतीर्थं ततो गच्छेत्स्नानं तत्र समाचरेत् । सुभगो दर्शनीयश्च भोगवान्जायते नरः

aśvatīrthaṁ tato gacchetsnānaṁ tatra samācaret subhago darśanīyaśca bhogavānjāyate naraḥ

Then one should go to Ashva-tirtha and perform the ritual bath there; a man becomes fortunate, handsome, and prosperous.

Verse 4 (padma.3.21.4)

पितामहं ततो गच्छेद्ब्रह्मणा निर्मितं पुरा । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो भक्त्या पितृपिंडं तु दापयेत्

pitāmahaṁ tato gacchedbrahmaṇā nirmitaṁ purā tatra snātvā naro bhaktyā pitṛpiṁḍaṁ tu dāpayet

Then one should go to Pitamaha-tirtha, made by Brahma of old; having bathed there with devotion, one should offer the rice-ball to the ancestors.

Verse 5 (padma.3.21.5)

तिलदर्भविमिश्रं तु उदकं तु प्रदापयेत् । तस्य तीर्थप्रभावेण सर्वं भवति चाक्षयम्

tiladarbhavimiśraṁ tu udakaṁ tu pradāpayet tasya tīrthaprabhāveṇa sarvaṁ bhavati cākṣayam

One should offer water mixed with sesame and kusha grass; by the power of that tirtha, everything becomes imperishable.

Verse 6 (padma.3.21.6)

सावित्री तीर्थमासाद्य यस्तु स्नानं समाचरेत् । विधूय सर्वपापानि ब्रह्मलोके महीयते

sāvitrī tīrthamāsādya yastu snānaṁ samācaret vidhūya sarvapāpāni brahmaloke mahīyate

Whoever, having reached Savitri-tirtha, performs the ritual bath, having shaken off all sins, is honored in Brahmaloka.

Verse 7 (padma.3.21.7)

मनोहरं च तत्रैव तीर्थं परमशोभनम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्पितृलोके महीयते

manoharaṁ ca tatraiva tīrthaṁ paramaśobhanam tatra snātvā naro rājanpitṛloke mahīyate

There too is the supremely beautiful tirtha named Manohara; having bathed there, O king, a man is honored in the world of the ancestors.

Verse 8 (padma.3.21.8)

ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र मानसं तीर्थमुत्तमम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्रुद्रलोके महीयते

tato gaccheta rājeṁdra mānasaṁ tīrthamuttamam tatra snātvā naro rājanrudraloke mahīyate

Then, O lord of kings, one should go to the excellent Manasa-tirtha; having bathed there, O king, a man is honored in the world of Rudra.

Verse 9 (padma.3.21.9)

ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र क्रतुतीर्थमनुत्तमम् । विख्यातं सर्वलोकेषु सर्वपापप्रणाशनम्

tato gaccheta rājeṁdra kratutīrthamanuttamam vikhyātaṁ sarvalokeṣu sarvapāpapraṇāśanam

Then, O lord of kings, one should go to the unsurpassed Kratu-tirtha, renowned throughout all the worlds, destroyer of all sin.

Verse 10 (padma.3.21.10)

यान्यान्प्रार्थयते कामान्पशुपुत्रधनानि च । प्राप्नुयात्तानि सर्वाणि तत्र स्नात्वा नराधिप

yānyānprārthayate kāmānpaśuputradhanāni ca prāpnuyāttāni sarvāṇi tatra snātvā narādhipa

Whatever desires one prays for — cattle, sons, and wealth — one obtains all of them, having bathed there, O lord of men.

Verse 11 (padma.3.21.11)

ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र त्रिदशद्योति विश्रुतम् । तत्र ता ऋषिकन्यास्तु तपस्तप्यंति सुव्रताः

tato gaccheta rājeṁdra tridaśadyoti viśrutam tatra tā ṛṣikanyāstu tapastapyaṁti suvratāḥ

Then, O lord of kings, one should go to what is renowned as Tridashadyoti; there daughters of sages, of excellent vows, perform austerity,

Verse 12 (padma.3.21.12)

भर्त्ता भवतु सर्वासामीश्वरः प्रभुरव्ययः । प्रीतस्तेषां महादेवश्चंडरूपधरो हरः

bharttā bhavatu sarvāsāmīśvaraḥ prabhuravyayaḥ prītasteṣāṁ mahādevaścaṁḍarūpadharo haraḥ

praying, 'May the imperishable Lord Ishvara become the husband of us all.' Pleased with them, Mahadeva, wearing a terrible form, Hara —

Verse 13 (padma.3.21.13)

विकृतानन बीभत्सस्तच्च तीर्थमुपागतः । तत्र कन्या महाराज वराय परमेश्वरः

vikṛtānana bībhatsastacca tīrthamupāgataḥ tatra kanyā mahārāja varāya parameśvaraḥ

of distorted and dreadful face, came to that tirtha; there, O great king, the Supreme Lord [became a bridegroom] for the maidens' sake.

Verse 14 (padma.3.21.14)

कन्याऋद्धिं च यः सेवेत्कन्यादानं प्रयच्छति । तीर्थं तत्र महाराज दशकन्येति विश्रुतम्

kanyāṛddhiṁ ca yaḥ sevetkanyādānaṁ prayacchati tīrthaṁ tatra mahārāja daśakanyeti viśrutam

Whoever honors the maidens' prosperity, and gives a maiden in marriage there — that tirtha, O great king, is renowned as Dashakanya.

Verse 15 (padma.3.21.15)

तत्र स्नात्वार्च्चयेद्देवं सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते । ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र स्वर्गबिंदुरिति श्रुतम्

tatra snātvārccayeddevaṁ sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate tato gaccheta rājeṁdra svargabiṁduriti śrutam

Having bathed there and worshipped the god, one is freed from all sins. Then, O lord of kings, one should go to what is heard of as Svargabindu,

Verse 16 (padma.3.21.16)

तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्दुर्गतिं च न पश्यति । अप्सरेशं ततो गच्छेत्स्नानं तत्र समाचरेत्

tatra snātvā naro rājandurgatiṁ ca na paśyati apsareśaṁ tato gacchetsnānaṁ tatra samācaret

having bathed there, O king, a man does not behold an evil state. Then one should go to Apsaresha and perform the ritual bath there;

Verse 17 (padma.3.21.17)

क्रीडते नागलोकस्थोऽप्सरोभिः सह मोदते । ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र नरकं तीर्थमुत्तमम्

krīḍate nāgalokastho'psarobhiḥ saha modate tato gaccheta rājeṁdra narakaṁ tīrthamuttamam

abiding in the world of the Nagas, he sports and rejoices together with the apsarases. Then, O lord of kings, one should go to the excellent Naraka-tirtha;

Verse 18 (padma.3.21.18)

तत्र स्नात्वार्च्चयेद्देवं नरकं च न गच्छति । भारभूतं ततो गच्छेदुपवासपरायणः

tatra snātvārccayeddevaṁ narakaṁ ca na gacchati bhārabhūtaṁ tato gacchedupavāsaparāyaṇaḥ

having bathed there and worshipped the god, one does not go to hell. Then, devoted to fasting, one should go to Bharabhuta.

Verse 19 (padma.3.21.19)

एतत्तीर्थं समासाद्य अवतारं तु शांभवम् । अर्चयित्वा विरूपाक्षं रुद्रलोके महीयते

etattīrthaṁ samāsādya avatāraṁ tu śāṁbhavam arcayitvā virūpākṣaṁ rudraloke mahīyate

Having reached this tirtha, and having worshipped Virupaksha, the incarnation of Shambhu, one is honored in the world of Rudra.

Verse 20 (padma.3.21.20)

तस्मिंस्तीर्थे नरः स्नात्वा भारभूते महात्मनः । यत्रतत्र मृतस्यापि ध्रुवं गाणेश्वरी गतिः

tasmiṁstīrthe naraḥ snātvā bhārabhūte mahātmanaḥ yatratatra mṛtasyāpi dhruvaṁ gāṇeśvarī gatiḥ

A man, having bathed at that great-souled one's Bharabhuta-tirtha — wherever he dies, his destiny is surely the state of Ganeshvara.

Verse 21 (padma.3.21.21)

कार्तिकस्य तु मासस्य अर्चयित्वा महेश्वरम् । अश्वमेधाच्छतगुणं प्रवदंति मनीषिणः

kārtikasya tu māsasya arcayitvā maheśvaram aśvamedhācchataguṇaṁ pravadaṁti manīṣiṇaḥ

In the month of Kartika, having worshipped Maheshvara, the wise declare the fruit to be a hundredfold that of the Ashvamedha.

Verse 22 (padma.3.21.22)

दीपकानां शतं कृत्वा घृतपूर्णं तु दापयेत् । विमानैः सूर्यसंकाशैर्व्रजते यत्र शंकरः

dīpakānāṁ śataṁ kṛtvā ghṛtapūrṇaṁ tu dāpayet vimānaiḥ sūryasaṁkāśairvrajate yatra śaṁkaraḥ

One who makes a hundred lamps, fills them with ghee, and offers them, goes, in celestial chariots resembling the sun, to where Shankara dwells.

Verse 23 (padma.3.21.23)

वृषभं यः प्रयच्छेत शंखकुंदेंदु संनिभम् । वृषयुक्तेन यानेन रुद्रलोकं स गच्छति

vṛṣabhaṁ yaḥ prayaccheta śaṁkhakuṁdeṁdu saṁnibham vṛṣayuktena yānena rudralokaṁ sa gacchati

Whoever gives a bull white as a conch, as jasmine, or as the moon, goes in a bull-drawn chariot to the world of Rudra.

Verse 24 (padma.3.21.24)

चरुमेकं तु यो दद्यात्तस्मिंस्तीर्थे नराधिप । पायसं मधुसंयुक्तं भक्ष्याणि विविधानि च

carumekaṁ tu yo dadyāttasmiṁstīrthe narādhipa pāyasaṁ madhusaṁyuktaṁ bhakṣyāṇi vividhāni ca

O lord of men, whoever gives a single offering of cooked rice at that tirtha, and sweet rice-pudding mixed with honey, and various foods,

Verse 25 (padma.3.21.25)

यथाशक्त्यनुराजेंद्र भोजयेत्सहदक्षिणम् । तस्यतीर्थप्रभावेण सर्वं कोटिगुणं भवेत्

yathāśaktyanurājeṁdra bhojayetsahadakṣiṇam tasyatīrthaprabhāveṇa sarvaṁ koṭiguṇaṁ bhavet

O lord of kings, and feeds them according to his means, together with the sacrificial fee — by the power of that tirtha, everything becomes multiplied a crore-fold.

Verse 26 (padma.3.21.26)

नर्मदाया जलं सिक्त्वा अर्चयित्वा वृषध्वजम् । दुर्गतिं च न पंश्यंति तस्य तीर्थप्रभावतः

narmadāyā jalaṁ siktvā arcayitvā vṛṣadhvajam durgatiṁ ca na paṁśyaṁti tasya tīrthaprabhāvataḥ

Having sprinkled the water of the Narmada and worshipped the bull-bannered one, by the power of that tirtha, they do not see an evil state.

Verse 27 (padma.3.21.27)

एतत्तीर्थं समासाद्य यस्तुप्राणान्परित्यजेत् । सर्वपापविशुद्धात्मा व्रजते यत्र शंकरः

etattīrthaṁ samāsādya yastuprāṇānparityajet sarvapāpaviśuddhātmā vrajate yatra śaṁkaraḥ

Whoever, having reached this tirtha, gives up his life-breath, with a soul purified of all sin, goes to where Shankara dwells.

Verse 28 (padma.3.21.28)

जलप्रवेशं यः कुर्यात्तस्मिंस्तीर्थे नराधिप । हंसयुक्तेन यानेन रुद्रलोकं स गच्छति

jalapraveśaṁ yaḥ kuryāttasmiṁstīrthe narādhipa haṁsayuktena yānena rudralokaṁ sa gacchati

O lord of men, whoever enters the water at that tirtha goes, in a swan-drawn chariot, to the world of Rudra,

Verse 29 (padma.3.21.29)

यावच्चंद्रश्च सूर्यश्च हिमवांश्च महोदधिः । गंगाद्याः सरितो यावत्तावत्स्वर्गे महीयते

yāvaccaṁdraśca sūryaśca himavāṁśca mahodadhiḥ gaṁgādyāḥ sarito yāvattāvatsvarge mahīyate

and is honored in heaven for as long as the sun and moon, the Himalayas and the great ocean, and the Ganga and the other rivers endure.

Verse 30 (padma.3.21.30)

अनाशनं तु यः कुर्यात्तस्मिंस्तीर्थे नराधिप । गर्भवासे तु राजेंद्र न पुनर्जायते नरः

anāśanaṁ tu yaḥ kuryāttasmiṁstīrthe narādhipa garbhavāse tu rājeṁdra na punarjāyate naraḥ

O lord of kings, whoever gives up food unto death at that tirtha, O lord of kings, that man is not born again into the dwelling of the womb.

Verse 31 (padma.3.21.31)

ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र अटवीतीर्थमुत्तमम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्निंद्रस्यार्द्धासनंलभेत्

tato gaccheta rājeṁdra aṭavītīrthamuttamam tatra snātvā naro rājanniṁdrasyārddhāsanaṁlabhet

Then, O lord of kings, one should go to the excellent Atavi-tirtha; having bathed there, O king, a man obtains half the throne of Indra.

Verse 32 (padma.3.21.32)

शृंगतीर्थं ततो गच्छेत्सर्वपापप्रणाशनम् । तत्रापि स्नातमात्रस्य ध्रुवं गाणेश्वरी गतिः

śṛṁgatīrthaṁ tato gacchetsarvapāpapraṇāśanam tatrāpi snātamātrasya dhruvaṁ gāṇeśvarī gatiḥ

Then one should go to Shringa-tirtha, destroyer of all sin; there too, merely by bathing, the destiny is surely the state of Ganeshvara.

Verse 33 (padma.3.21.33)

एरंडीनर्मदायाश्च संगमं लोकविश्रुतम् । तत्र तीर्थं महापुण्यं सर्वपापप्रणाशनम्

eraṁḍīnarmadāyāśca saṁgamaṁ lokaviśrutam tatra tīrthaṁ mahāpuṇyaṁ sarvapāpapraṇāśanam

The confluence of the Erandi and the Narmada is renowned throughout the world; there is a greatly sacred tirtha, destroyer of all sin.

Verse 34 (padma.3.21.34)

उपवासपरो भूत्वा नित्यं ब्रह्मपरायणः । तत्र स्नात्वा तु राजेंद्र मुच्यते ब्रह्महत्यया

upavāsaparo bhūtvā nityaṁ brahmaparāyaṇaḥ tatra snātvā tu rājeṁdra mucyate brahmahatyayā

Devoted to fasting and ever intent upon Brahman, having bathed there, O lord of kings, one is freed from the sin of killing a brahmin.

Verse 35 (padma.3.21.35)

ततो गच्छेत राजेन्द्र नर्मदोदधिसंगमम् । जमदग्निरिति ख्यातं सिद्धो यत्र जनार्दनः

tato gaccheta rājendra narmadodadhisaṁgamam jamadagniriti khyātaṁ siddho yatra janārdanaḥ

Then, O lord of kings, one should go to the confluence of the Narmada and the ocean, renowned as Jamadagni, where Janardana stands accomplished,

Verse 36 (padma.3.21.36)

यत्रेष्ट्वा बहुभिर्यज्ञैरिंद्रो देवाधिपोभवत् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्नर्मदोदधिसंगमे

yatreṣṭvā bahubhiryajñairiṁdro devādhipobhavat tatra snātvā naro rājannarmadodadhisaṁgame

where, having performed many sacrifices there, Indra became lord of the gods. Having bathed there, O king, at the confluence of the Narmada and the ocean,

Verse 37 (padma.3.21.37)

त्रिगुणस्याश्वमेधस्य फलं प्राप्नोति मानवः । पश्चिमोदधिसायुज्यं मुक्तिद्वारविघाटनम्

triguṇasyāśvamedhasya phalaṁ prāpnoti mānavaḥ paścimodadhisāyujyaṁ muktidvāravighāṭanam

a man obtains the fruit of three times the Ashvamedha. Union with the western ocean opens the door to liberation;

Verse 38 (padma.3.21.38)

तत्र देवाः सगंधर्वा ऋषयः सिद्धचारणाः । आराधयंति देवेशं त्रिसंध्यं विमलेश्वरम्

tatra devāḥ sagaṁdharvā ṛṣayaḥ siddhacāraṇāḥ ārādhayaṁti deveśaṁ trisaṁdhyaṁ vimaleśvaram

there gods together with gandharvas, sages, Siddhas, and Charanas worship the God of gods, the stainless Vimaleshvara, at the three daily junctures,

Verse 39 (padma.3.21.39)

सर्वपापविशुद्धात्मा रुद्रलोके महीयते । विमलेश्वरपरं तीर्थं न भूतं न भविष्यति

sarvapāpaviśuddhātmā rudraloke mahīyate vimaleśvaraparaṁ tīrthaṁ na bhūtaṁ na bhaviṣyati

with a soul purified of all sin, one is honored in the world of Rudra. There is no tirtha superior to Vimaleshvara, neither in the past nor in the future.

Verse 40 (padma.3.21.40)

तत्रोपवासं कृत्वा ये पश्यंति विमलेश्वरम् । सर्वपापविशुद्धात्मा रुद्रलोकं व्रजंति ते

tatropavāsaṁ kṛtvā ye paśyaṁti vimaleśvaram sarvapāpaviśuddhātmā rudralokaṁ vrajaṁti te

Whoever, having fasted there, beholds Vimaleshvara — with a soul purified of all sin, they proceed to the world of Rudra.

Verse 41 (padma.3.21.41)

ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र केशिनीतीर्थमुत्तमम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्नुपवासपरायणः

tato gaccheta rājeṁdra keśinītīrthamuttamam tatra snātvā naro rājannupavāsaparāyaṇaḥ

Then, O lord of kings, one should go to the excellent Keshini-tirtha; having bathed there, O king, devoted to fasting,

Verse 42 (padma.3.21.42)

उपोष्य रजनीमेकां नियतो नियताशनः । तत्र तीर्थप्रभावेण मुच्यते ब्रह्महत्यया

upoṣya rajanīmekāṁ niyato niyatāśanaḥ tatra tīrthaprabhāveṇa mucyate brahmahatyayā

having fasted a single night, disciplined and restrained in diet, by the power of that tirtha, a man is freed from the sin of killing a brahmin.

Verse 43 (padma.3.21.43)

सर्वतीर्थाभिषेकं च यः पश्येत्सागरेश्वरम् । योजनाभ्यंतरे तिष्ठेदावर्ते संस्थितः शिवः

sarvatīrthābhiṣekaṁ ca yaḥ paśyetsāgareśvaram yojanābhyaṁtare tiṣṭhedāvarte saṁsthitaḥ śivaḥ

Whoever beholds Sagareshvara obtains, as it were, the fruit of the ritual bath at all tirthas; within a yojana, in the very whirlpool, Shiva abides.

Verse 44 (padma.3.21.44)

तं दृष्ट्वा सर्वतीर्थानि दृष्टानि स्युर्न संशयः । सर्वपापविनिर्मुक्तो यत्र रुद्र सः गच्छति

taṁ dṛṣṭvā sarvatīrthāni dṛṣṭāni syurna saṁśayaḥ sarvapāpavinirmukto yatra rudra saḥ gacchati

Having seen him, all tirthas are, as it were, seen — there is no doubt. Freed from all sin, he goes to where Rudra dwells.

Verse 45 (padma.3.21.45)

नर्मदासंगमं यावद्यावच्चामरकंटकम् । तत्रांतरे महाराजन्तीर्थकोट्योदकस्थिताः

narmadāsaṁgamaṁ yāvadyāvaccāmarakaṁṭakam tatrāṁtare mahārājantīrthakoṭyodakasthitāḥ

From the confluence of the Narmada as far as Amarakantaka, O great king, in that interval, crores of tirthas abide in the water.

Verse 46 (padma.3.21.46)

तीर्थात्तीर्थाटनं चर्या ऋषिकोटिनिषेविता । अग्निहोत्रैश्च दिव्यांशैः सर्वैर्ज्ञानपरायणैः

tīrthāttīrthāṭanaṁ caryā ṛṣikoṭiniṣevitā agnihotraiśca divyāṁśaiḥ sarvairjñānaparāyaṇaiḥ

Wandering from tirtha to tirtha is a practice served by crores of sages, together with divine Agnihotra rites and complete devotion to knowledge,

Verse 47 (padma.3.21.47)

सेवितास्तेन राजेंद्र ईप्सितार्थप्रदायिकाः । यश्चेदं वै पठेन्नित्यं शृणुयाद्वापि भक्तितः

sevitāstena rājeṁdra īpsitārthapradāyikāḥ yaścedaṁ vai paṭhennityaṁ śṛṇuyādvāpi bhaktitaḥ

served by them, O lord of kings, they grant the desired fruit. Whoever recites this ever, or even hears it with devotion,

Verse 48 (padma.3.21.48)

तं तु तीर्थानि सर्वाणि अभिषिंचंति पांडव । नर्मदा च सदा प्रीता भवेद्वै नात्र संशयः

taṁ tu tīrthāni sarvāṇi abhiṣiṁcaṁti pāṁḍava narmadā ca sadā prītā bhavedvai nātra saṁśayaḥ

O Pandava, all the tirthas anoint him; and the Narmada is ever pleased with him, without doubt.

Verse 49 (padma.3.21.49)

प्रीतस्तस्य भवेद्रुद्रो मार्कंडेयो महामुनिः । वंध्या च लभते पुत्रान्दुर्भगा सुभगाभवेत्

prītastasya bhavedrudro mārkaṁḍeyo mahāmuniḥ vaṁdhyā ca labhate putrāndurbhagā subhagābhavet

Rudra becomes pleased with him, and so does the great sage Markandeya; a barren woman obtains sons, and one of ill fortune becomes fortunate.

Verse 50 (padma.3.21.50)

कुमारीं लभते भर्त्ता यच्च यो वाञ्छते फलम् । तदेव लभते सर्वं नात्र कार्या विचारणा

kumārīṁ labhate bharttā yacca yo vāñchate phalam tadeva labhate sarvaṁ nātra kāryā vicāraṇā

An unmarried maiden obtains a husband, and whatever fruit anyone desires — he obtains all of it entirely; there is no need to deliberate over this.

Verse 51 (padma.3.21.51)

ब्राह्मणो वेदमाप्नोति क्षत्रियो विजयी भवेत् । वैश्यस्तु लभते धान्यं शूद्रः प्राप्नोति सद्गतिम्

brāhmaṇo vedamāpnoti kṣatriyo vijayī bhavet vaiśyastu labhate dhānyaṁ śūdraḥ prāpnoti sadgatim

A brahmin obtains the Veda, a kshatriya becomes victorious, a vaishya obtains grain, and a shudra attains a good destiny.

Verse 52 (padma.3.21.52)

मूर्खस्तु लभते विद्यां त्रिसंध्यं यः पठेन्नरः । नरकं च न पश्येत वियोनिं च न गच्छति

mūrkhastu labhate vidyāṁ trisaṁdhyaṁ yaḥ paṭhennaraḥ narakaṁ ca na paśyeta viyoniṁ ca na gacchati

Even a fool obtains learning — whoever recites this at the three daily junctures; he does not behold hell, and does not enter a lower birth.
