Thus is the glory of Brahmavalli-tirtha. After this one should go to Vrishatirtha at the most renowned Khandatirtha, where, by bathing, cows in ancient times attained heaven and Goloka.

Verse 12 (padma.6.144.12)

खंडरूपेण धर्मेण या गावो लोकमातरः । शापाद्भ्रष्टावितास्तेन खंडतीर्थमथोच्यते

khaṁḍarūpeṇa dharmeṇa yā gāvo lokamātaraḥ śāpādbhraṣṭāvitāstena khaṁḍatīrthamathocyate

By dharma in the form of Khanda, the mother-cows of the world, fallen through a curse, were delivered — for this reason it is called Khandatirtha.

Verse 13 (padma.6.144.13)

'(Hara said) When you bathe in the Sabarmati ford, near Brahmavalli, in the lake named Khanda, you shall certainly attain heaven.'

Verse 18 (padma.6.144.18)

tatastasminhrade snātvā gāvo gopatinā saha svargaṁ gatā śuddhatamā mahādevasamīpataḥ

Then, bathing in that lake, together with the lord of cattle, the cows, made utterly pure, went to heaven, into the presence of Mahadeva.

Verse 19 (padma.6.144.19)

गोह्रदे तु नरः स्नात्वा कृत्वा वै पितृतर्पणम् । गवां लोकमवाप्नोति दाहप्रलयवर्जितम्
