The Glory of Kameshvara Tirtha

Verse 1 (skanda.5.226.1)

श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच। कामेश्वरं ततश्चान्यच्छृणु पाण्डवसत्तम। सिद्धो यत्र गणाध्यक्षो गौरीपुत्रो महाबलः

śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca| kāmeśvaraṁ tataścānyacchṛṇu pāṇḍavasattama| siddho yatra gaṇādhyakṣo gaurīputro mahābalaḥ

Shri Markandeya said: Next, O best of the Pandavas, hear of another tirtha, Kameshvara, where the mighty lord of the ganas, Gauri's son, attained accomplishment.

Verse 2 (skanda.5.226.2)

तत्र तीर्थे तु यो भक्त्या भक्तियुक्तो जितेन्द्रियः। पञ्चामृतेन संस्नाप्य धूपनैवेद्यपूजनैः

tatra tīrthe tu yo bhaktyā bhaktiyukto jitendriyaḥ| pañcāmṛtena saṁsnāpya dhūpanaivedyapūjanaiḥ

There at that tirtha, whoever, devoted and self-controlled, bathes the deity with the five nectars and worships with incense and food-offerings,

Verse 3 (skanda.5.226.3)

प्रसाद्य जगतामीशं सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते। अष्टम्यां मार्गशीर्षस्य तत्र स्नात्वा युधिष्ठिर

prasādya jagatāmīśaṁ sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate| aṣṭamyāṁ mārgaśīrṣasya tatra snātvā yudhiṣṭhira

and gratifies the Lord of the worlds, is freed from every sin. Bathing there on the eighth day of Margashirsha, O Yudhishthira,

Verse 4 (skanda.5.226.4)

यो येन यजते तत्र स तं काममवाप्नुयात्

yo yena yajate tatra sa taṁ kāmamavāpnuyāt

whoever worships there with whatever desire attains that very desire.
