The Greatness of Rameshvara Tirtha

Verse 1 (skanda.5.289.1)

श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच। नर्मदादक्षिणे कूले रामेश्वरमनुत्तमम् । तीर्थं पापहरं पुण्यं सर्वदुःखघ्नमुत्तमम् ।

śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca| narmadādakṣiṇe kūle rāmeśvaram anuttamam| tīrthaṁ pāpaharaṁ puṇyaṁ sarvaduḥkhaghnam uttamam||

Shri Markandeya said: On the southern bank of the Narmada is the unsurpassed Rameshvara, an excellent, sacred, sin-removing tirtha that destroys all sorrow.

Verse 2 (skanda.5.289.2)

तत्र तीर्थे तु ये स्नात्वा पूजयन्ति महेश्वरम् । महादेवं महात्मानं मुच्यन्ते सर्वकिल्बिषैः ।

tatra tīrthe tu ye snātvā pūjayanti maheśvaram| mahādevaṁ mahātmānaṁ mucyante sarvakilbiṣaiḥ||

Those who bathe at that tirtha and worship Maheshvara, the great-souled Mahadeva, are freed from all sins.
