The Glory of Lakulisha

Verse 1 (skanda.7.177.1)

तस्यैव पूर्वदिग्भागे लकुलीशस्तु मूर्तिमान्। स्वयं तिष्ठति देवेशि कृत्वा घोरं तपः पुरा

tasyaiva pūrvadigbhāge lakulīśastu mūrtimān| svayaṁ tiṣṭhati deveśi kṛtvā ghoraṁ tapaḥ purā

In the eastern part of that very place, the embodied Lakulisha himself abides, O goddess of gods, who in former times performed terrible austerity.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.177.2)

संस्थितः पापशमने तत्र स्थाने स्थलोपरि। कार्तिक्यां कृत्तिकायोगे यस्तं पूजयते नरः

saṁsthitaḥ pāpaśamane tatra sthāne sthalopari| kārtikyāṁ kṛttikāyoge yastaṁ pūjayate naraḥ

He stands established there, upon that spot, quelling sins. The man who worships him on the Kartiki, in conjunction with the Krittika asterism,

Verse 3 (skanda.7.177.3)

स पूज्यते महादेवि सर्वैरपि सुरासुरैः

sa pūjyate mahādevi sarvairapi surāsuraiḥ

he, O great Goddess, becomes worshipped even by all the gods and demons.
