The Glory of Siddheshvara

Verse 1 (skanda.7.176.1)

ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि सिद्धेश्वरमिति स्मृतम्। अर्कस्थलात्तथाग्नेय्यां नातिदूरे व्यवस्थितम्

tato gacchenmahādevi siddheśvaramiti smṛtam| arkasthalāttathāgneyyāṁ nātidūre vyavasthitam

Then, O great Goddess, one should go to the linga remembered by the name Siddheshvara, situated not far in the southeastern direction from Arkasthala.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.176.2)

अष्टादश सहस्राणि ऋषीणामूर्ध्वरेतसाम्। तस्मिँल्लिंगे तु सिद्धानि सिद्धेश्वरमतः स्मृतम्

aṣṭādaśa sahasrāṇi ṛṣīṇāmūrdhvaretasām| tasmiṁlliṁge tu siddhāni siddheśvaramataḥ smṛtam

Eighteen thousand seers of upward-retained seed attained perfection at that linga; hence it is remembered by the name Siddheshvara.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.176.3)

स्नात्वाऽर्चयेन्नरो भक्त्या सोपवासो जितेन्द्रियः। संपूज्य विधिवद्देवं दद्याद्विप्रेषु दक्षिणाम्। सर्वकामसमृद्धस्तु स याति परमं पदम्

snātvā'rcayennaro bhaktyā sopavāso jitendriyaḥ| saṁpūjya vidhivaddevaṁ dadyādvipreṣu dakṣiṇām| sarvakāmasamṛddhastu sa yāti paramaṁ padam

Having bathed, fasting, with senses conquered, the man who worships it with devotion, and having duly honored the god, gives gifts to brahmins — he, enriched with all desires fulfilled, attains the supreme state.
