The Glory of the Mother-goddesses beginning with Vasunanda and the Shrimukha Cave

Verse 1 (skanda.7.182.1)

ततो मातृगणान्पश्येद्वसुनन्दादिनामतः। अर्कस्थलसमीपस्थान्दक्षिणे नातिदूरतः

tato mātṛgaṇānpaśyedvasunandādināmataḥ| arkasthalasamīpasthāndakṣiṇe nātidūrataḥ

Then one should behold the group of Mother-goddesses named beginning with Vasunanda, situated near Arkasthala, not far to the south.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.182.2)

आश्वयुक्छुक्लपक्षे तु नवम्यां नियतात्मवान्। यस्ताः पूजयते मातॄर्विधिना भावितात्मवान्

āśvayukchuklapakṣe tu navamyāṁ niyatātmavān| yastāḥ pūjayate mātṝrvidhinā bhāvitātmavān

On the ninth day of the bright fortnight of Ashvin, the self-controlled man of purified heart who duly worships those Mothers,

Verse 3 (skanda.7.182.3)

स समृद्धिमवाप्नोति दुरापामकृतात्मभिः। तत्रैव संस्थितं पश्येच्छ्रीमुखं विवरप्रियम्

sa samṛddhimavāpnoti durāpāmakṛtātmabhiḥ| tatraiva saṁsthitaṁ paśyecchrīmukhaṁ vivarapriyam

he attains a prosperity hard to obtain for the undisciplined. At that very place one should behold Shrimukha, who delights in the cavern.

Verse 4 (skanda.7.182.4)

तस्मिन्नेव दिने पूज्यं सिद्धिकामैर्नरैः सदा। एतत्पूर्वं मयाख्यातं तव विस्तरतः प्रिये

tasminneva dine pūjyaṁ siddhikāmairnaraiḥ sadā| etatpūrvaṁ mayākhyātaṁ tava vistarataḥ priye

On that same day, men desiring accomplishment should always worship it. O beloved, this I have already told you before, in detail.

Verse 5 (skanda.7.182.5)

तस्मिन्नेव दिने पूज्यं तीर्थयात्राप्रसंगतः

tasminneva dine pūjyaṁ tīrthayātrāprasaṁgataḥ

On that same day it should be worshipped, in the course of the pilgrimage.
