The Glory of Pulastyeshvara

Verse 1 (skanda.7.210.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि पुलस्त्येश्वरमुत्तमम्। मार्कंडेयोत्तेरे भागे धनुषां पञ्चके स्थितम्

īśvara uvāca| tato gacchenmahādevi pulastyeśvaramuttamam| mārkaṇḍeyottare bhāge dhanuṣāṁ pañcake sthitam

Ishvara said: Then, O great Goddess, one should proceed to the excellent Pulastyeshvara, situated five bow-lengths to the north of Markandeshvara.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.210.2)

तं दृष्ट्वा मानवो देवि पूजयित्वा विधानतः। सप्तजन्मार्जितात्पापान्मुच्यते नात्र संशयः

taṁ dṛṣṭvā mānavo devi pūjayitvā vidhānataḥ| saptajanmārjitātpāpānmucyate nātra saṁśayaḥ

O Goddess, by beholding him and duly worshipping him, a man is freed from the sins accumulated over seven lifetimes — of this there is no doubt.
