The Greatness of Gupheshvara

Verse 1 (skanda.7.253.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि गुफेश्वरमनुत्तमम्। हिरण्या उत्तरे भागे सर्वपातकनाशनम्। तं दृष्ट्वा मानवो देवि कोटिहत्यां व्यपोहति

īśvara uvāca| tato gacchenmahādevi gupheśvaramanuttamam| hiraṇyā uttare bhāge sarvapātakanāśanam| taṁ dṛṣṭvā mānavo devi koṭihatyāṁ vyapohati

Ishvara said: O Mahadevi, next one should go to the most excellent Gupheshvara, situated in the northern part of the Hiranya, the destroyer of all sins. O Devi, a man who beholds him wipes away the sin of even a million killings.
