The Glory of Trinetreshvara

Verse 1 (skanda.7.275.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि देवं चैव त्रिलोचनम्। ऋषितीर्थसमीपे तु सर्वपातकनाशनम्। न्यङ्कुमत्युत्तरे कूल ऋषिभिः पूजितं पुरा

īśvara uvāca| tato gacchenmahādevi devaṁ caiva trilocanam| ṛṣitīrthasamīpe tu sarvapātakanāśanam| nyaṅkumatyuttare kūla ṛṣibhiḥ pūjitaṁ purā

Ishvara said: Then, O great Goddess, one should go to the three-eyed god (Trilochana) near Rishi-tirtha, the destroyer of all sins, who was worshipped of old by sages on the northern bank of the Nyankumati.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.275.2)

त्रिनेत्रा मत्स्यका यत्र जलं स्फटिकसन्निभम्। तत्र स्नात्वा नरो देवि मुच्यते ब्रह्महत्यया

trinetrā matsyakā yatra jalaṁ sphaṭikasannibham| tatra snātvā naro devi mucyate brahmahatyayā

Where little three-eyed fish live and the water is clear as crystal — bathing there, O Goddess, a man is freed from the sin of slaying a brahmin.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.275.3)

कृष्णपक्षे चतुर्द्दश्यां मासे भाद्रपदे तथा। उपवासं तु कुर्वीत रात्रौ जागरणं तथा

kṛṣṇapakṣe caturddaśyāṁ māse bhādrapade tathā| upavāsaṁ tu kurvīta rātrau jāgaraṇaṁ tathā

On the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada, one should observe a fast, and likewise keep vigil through the night.

Verse 4 (skanda.7.275.4)

प्रातः श्राद्धं प्रकुर्वीत विधिवत्पूजयेच्छिवम्। रुद्रलोके वसेद्देवि वर्षाणामयुतत्रयम्

prātaḥ śrāddhaṁ prakurvīta vidhivatpūjayecchivam| rudraloke vaseddevi varṣāṇāmayutatrayam

In the morning one should perform shraddha and worship Shiva according to rule; O Goddess, by this one dwells in Rudraloka for thirty thousand years.
