The Glory of Bhadrakali

Verse 1 (skanda.7.291.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। तस्मादुत्तरभागे तु स्थानात्कौबेरसंज्ञकात्। भद्रकाली महादेवि वांछितार्थप्रदायिनी

īśvara uvāca| tasmāduttarabhāge tu sthānātkauberasaṁjñakāt| bhadrakālī mahādevi vāṁchitārthapradāyinī

Ishvara said: To the north of that place named Kaubera, O great Goddess, is Bhadrakali, the granter of desired ends.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.291.2)

दक्षयज्ञस्य विध्वंसे वीरभद्रसमन्विता। भद्रकाली महादेवी दक्षयज्ञविनाशिनी

dakṣayajñasya vidhvaṁse vīrabhadrasamanvitā| bhadrakālī mahādevī dakṣayajñavināśinī

Present with Virabhadra at the destruction of Daksha's sacrifice, that Bhadrakali Mahadevi is the destroyer of Daksha's sacrifice.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.291.3)

चैत्रे मासि तृतीयायां देवीं तां यस्तु पूजयेत्। नवकोट्यस्तु चामुण्डा भविष्यंति सुपूजिताः। सौभाग्यं विजयं चैव तस्य लक्ष्मीर्भविष्यति

caitre māsi tṛtīyāyāṁ devīṁ tāṁ yastu pūjayet| navakoṭyastu cāmuṇḍā bhaviṣyaṁti supūjitāḥ| saubhāgyaṁ vijayaṁ caiva tasya lakṣmīrbhaviṣyati

Whoever worships that Goddess on the third lunar day of the month of Chaitra—for him nine crores of Chamundas become, as it were, well worshipped; good fortune, victory, and prosperity shall be his.
