The Glory of Gananatha (Vinayaka)

Verse 1 (skanda.7.324.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। तस्मादुत्तरदिग्भागे किंचिद्वायव्यमाश्रितम्। विनायकं प्रपश्येच्च सर्वसिद्धिप्रदायकम्

īśvara uvāca| tasmāduttaradigbhāge kiṁcidvāyavyamāśritam| vināyakaṁ prapaśyecca sarvasiddhipradāyakam

Ishvara said: From there, in the northern quarter, situated a little towards the northwest, one should behold Vinayaka, the bestower of all accomplishments.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.324.2)

योऽसौ देवि मया ख्यातः सखा मे धनदः पुरा। गणनाथस्वरूपेण निधीनां परिपालकः। लोकानां सिद्धिदानार्थमस्मिन्स्थाने स्थितः प्रिये

yo'sau devi mayā khyātaḥ sakhā me dhanadaḥ purā| gaṇanāthasvarūpeṇa nidhīnāṁ paripālakaḥ| lokānāṁ siddhidānārthamasminsthāne sthitaḥ priye

O Devi, he whom I formerly described as my friend Dhanada (Kubera), guardian of the treasures — in the form of Gananatha he stands here, O beloved, for granting accomplishment to the people of the world.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.324.3)

चतुर्थ्यां भौमवारेण भक्ष्यभोज्यः समोदकैः। पूजयेद्विधिवद्देवि तस्य सिद्धिर्भवेद्ध्रुवम्

caturthyāṁ bhaumavāreṇa bhakṣyabhojyaḥ samodakaiḥ| pūjayedvidhivaddevi tasya siddhirbhaveddhruvam

On the fourth lunar day, on a Tuesday, one should duly worship him, O Devi, with food offerings and modakas; thereby his devotee's success is assured.
