The Glory of Kalamegha

Verse 1 (skanda.7.331.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि कालमेघेति विश्रुतम्। तस्मात्तं पूर्वदिग्भागे क्षेत्रपं लिंगरूपिणम्

īśvara uvāca| tato gacchenmahādevi kālamegheti viśrutam| tasmāttaṁ pūrvadigbhāge kṣetrapaṁ liṁgarūpiṇam

Ishvara said: Then, O great Goddess, one should go, in the eastern direction from that place, to the one renowned as Kalamegha, the field-guardian in linga-form.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.331.2)

अष्टम्यां वा चतुर्द्दश्यां पूज्योऽसौ बलिभिर्नरैः। वांछितार्थप्रदः सम्यक्स कलौ कल्पपादपः

aṣṭamyāṁ vā caturddaśyāṁ pūjyo'sau balibhirnaraiḥ| vāṁchitārthapradaḥ samyaksa kalau kalpapādapaḥ

On the eighth or fourteenth lunar day he should be worshipped by men with offerings; he fully grants desired ends, and in the Kali age he is a wish-fulfilling tree.
