The Glory of Naleshvara

Verse 1 (skanda.7.345.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि लिंगं वै हाटकेश्वरम्। जरद्गवात्पूर्वभागे धनुषां षष्टिभिस्त्रिभिः

īśvara uvāca| tato gacchenmahādevi liṅgaṁ vai hāṭakeśvaram| jaradgavāt pūrvabhāge dhanuṣāṁ ṣaṣṭibhistribhiḥ

Ishvara said: O Great Goddess, one should then go to the linga known as Hatakeshvara, sixty-three bow-lengths to the east of Jaradgava.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.345.2)

नाम्ना नलेश्वरं देवि स्थापितं तु नलेन वै। दमयन्तीयुतेनैव ज्ञात्वा क्षेत्रं तदुत्तमम्

nāmnā naleśvaraṁ devi sthāpitaṁ tu nalena vai| damayantīyutenaiva jñātvā kṣetraṁ taduttamam

Named Naleshvara, O Goddess, it was established by Nala together with Damayanti, after they recognized that excellent sacred field.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.345.3)

तं दृष्ट्वा मानवो देवि पूजयित्वा विधानतः। कलिभिर्मुच्यते जंतुर्द्यूते च विजयी भवेत्

taṁ dṛṣṭvā mānavo devi pūjayitvā vidhānataḥ| kalibhirmucyate jantur dyūte ca vijayī bhavet

O Goddess, a man who beholds it and worships it according to rule is freed from the afflictions of Kali (misfortune), and becomes victorious at dice.
