Prabhasa Khanda · Chapter 368
Enumeration of the Foremost Tirthas
Verse 1 (skanda.7.368.1)
īśvara uvāca| atha vastrāpathe kṣetre saṁti tīrthāni koṭiśaḥ| tathāpi sāraṁ te vacmi sarvatīrthamahodayam
Ishvara said: Now, in the field of Vastrapatha, there are tirthas by the crore; nevertheless, I shall tell you the essence — the great glory of all these tirthas together.
Verse 2 (skanda.7.368.2)
dāmodare nadī proktā svarṇareṣeti yā smṛtā| brahmakuṇḍaṁ ca tatraiva tathā brahmeśvaraḥ smṛtaḥ
At Damodara is told of the river remembered by the name Svarnaresha; there too is Brahmakunda, and likewise Brahmeshvara is remembered there.
Verse 3 (skanda.7.368.3)
kālameghaśca saṁprokto bhavo dāmodaraḥ smṛtaḥ| gavyūtidvitayenaiva kālikā tatra kīrtitā
Kalamegha too is told of there, and Bhava is remembered there as Damodara; and within a mere two gavyutis of that place, Kalika is celebrated.
Verse 4 (skanda.7.368.4)
indreśvaraśca tatraiva raivataḥ parvatastathā| ujjayaṁtaśca tatraiva devaḥ kumbhīśvaraḥ smṛtaḥ
Indreshvara is there too, as is the mountain Raivata; Ujjayanta stands there as well, and the god Kumbhishvara is remembered there.
Verse 5 (skanda.7.368.5)
bhīmeśvaraśca tatraiva tataḥ kṣetraṁ mahāprabham| tailasāraṇikaṁnāma tretāyāṁ haimamārakam
Bhimeshvara is there too; and beyond that lies a field of great splendor, called Tailasaranika, which in the Treta age was known as Haimamaraka, the golden Maraka.
Verse 6 (skanda.7.368.6)
paṁcagavyūtimātraṁ tu tatkṣetraṁ saṁprakīrtitam| mṛgīkuṇḍaṁ ca tatraiva sarvapātakanāśanam
That field is celebrated as extending a full five gavyutis; there too lies the Mrigikunda, destroyer of every sin.
Verse 7 (skanda.7.368.7)
etadvastrāpathaṁ kṣetraṁ ratnadhātvostathā''karam| kathitaṁ tava deveśi punaḥ saṁkṣepato mayā
This is the field of Vastrapatha, a very mine of gems and minerals besides; thus, O Goddess of the gods, has it been told to you once more by me, in brief.
