चन्दनगर की जगद्धात्री पूजा कलात्मकता और भक्ति में कोलकाता की दुर्गा पूजा की प्रतिद्वंद्वी है। ऐसे समय में जब देखभाल - बच्चों की, बुजुर्गों की, बीमारों की - को किसी भी समाज में श्रम के सबसे मूलभूत रूप के रूप में मान्यता मिल रही है, जगद्धात्री उस कार्य को पवित्र बनाने वाली देवी हैं जो सब कुछ जीवित रखता है।
