गणेशजी का विशाल उदर कोई कमज़ोरी नहीं बल्कि गहरा दार्शनिक प्रतीक है। यह ब्रह्माण्ड को अपने भीतर समेटे हुए है। वाराणसी या अहमदाबाद का गृहस्थ जब घर में रखी गणेश मूर्ति में 'लम्बोदरः' देखता है, तो यह स्मरण होता है कि जो दिव्य चेतना सारे संसार को धारण करती है, वही उनकी सभी चिंताओं और आशाओं को भी अनन्त करुणा में समाए हुए है।
