Verse 1 (garuda.1.203.1)

हरिरुवाच । या गौर्द्वेष्टिं स्वकं वत्सं तस्या देयं स्वकं पयः । लवणेन समायुक्तं तस्या वत्सः प्रियो भवेत्

hariruvāca yā gaurdveṣṭiṁ svakaṁ vatsaṁ tasyā deyaṁ svakaṁ payaḥ lavaṇena samāyuktaṁ tasyā vatsaḥ priyo bhavet

Hari said: To a cow that rejects her own calf, one should give her own milk mixed with salt; then her calf becomes dear to her.

Verse 2 (garuda.1.203.2)

शुनोऽस्थि कण्ठबद्धं हि महिषाणां गवा तथा । कृमिजालं पातयति सकलं नात्र संशयः

śuno'sthi kaṇṭhabaddhaṁ hi mahiṣāṇāṁ gavā tathā kṛmijālaṁ pātayati sakalaṁ nātra saṁśayaḥ

A dog's bone tied around the neck causes the entire mass of worms in buffaloes and cows to fall away — of this there is no doubt.

Verse 3 (garuda.1.203.3)

गोजङ्गनाभिपातः स्याद्गुञ्जामूलस्य भक्षणात्

gojaṅganābhipātaḥ syādguñjāmūlasya bhakṣaṇāt

The eating of gunja-root makes a swelling in the cow's flank and navel subside.

Verse 4 (garuda.1.203.4)

वरुणफलस्यरसं करेण मथितं शिव । चतुष्पादद्विपदयोः कृमिजालं निपातयेत्

varuṇaphalasyarasaṁ kareṇa mathitaṁ śiva catuṣpādadvipadayoḥ kṛmijālaṁ nipātayet

O Shiva, the juice of the varuna-fruit, churned by hand and given, causes the mass of worms to fall away in both quadrupeds and bipeds.

Verse 5 (garuda.1.203.5)

व्रणञ्च शमयेद्रुद्र जयायाः पूरणात्तथा । गजमूत्रस्य वै पानं गोमहिष्युपसर्गनुत्

vraṇañca śamayedrudra jayāyāḥ pūraṇāttathā gajamūtrasya vai pānaṁ gomahiṣyupasarganut

O Rudra, it also heals a wound when packed with the jaya herb. The drinking of elephant's urine removes epidemic disease among cows and buffaloes.

Verse 6 (garuda.1.203.6)

समसूर शालिबीजं पीतं तक्रेण घर्षितम् । क्षीरे गोमहीषस्यैव गोः पुंसश्च हितं भवेत्

samasūra śālibījaṁ pītaṁ takreṇa gharṣitam kṣīre gomahīṣasyaiva goḥ puṁsaśca hitaṁ bhavet

Lentil and shali-rice ground and given with buttermilk, mixed into the milk of a cow or buffalo, benefits both the cow and the bull.

Verse 7 (garuda.1.203.7)

पत्रञ्च शरपुङ्खाया दत्तं सलवणं शिव । वारिस्फोटं हयानाञ्च केसराणां विनाशयेत्

patrañca śarapuṅkhāyā dattaṁ salavaṇaṁ śiva vārisphoṭaṁ hayānāñca kesarāṇāṁ vināśayet

O Shiva, the leaf of sharapunkha, given with salt, destroys water-blisters and ailments of the mane in horses.

Verse 8 (garuda.1.203.8)

घृतकुमारीपत्रमेव दत्तं सलक्षणं हर । तुरगमकेसराणां कण्डूनंश्येन्न संशयः

ghṛtakumārīpatrameva dattaṁ salakṣaṇaṁ hara turagamakesarāṇāṁ kaṇḍūnaṁśyenna saṁśayaḥ

O Hara, the leaf of ghritakumari, given by the proper method, undoubtedly destroys the itching of a horse's mane.
