The Greatness of Koti Tirtha

Verse 1 (skanda.5.268.1)

श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच। ततो गच्छेत्तु राजेन्द्र कोटितीर्थमनुत्तमम्। ऋषिकोटिर्गता तत्र परां सिद्धिमुपागता।

śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca| tato gacchettu rājendra koṭitīrthamanuttamam| ṛṣikoṭirgatā tatra parāṁ siddhimupāgatā||

Shri Markandeya said: Thereafter, O lord of kings, one should go to the unsurpassed Koti tirtha; a crore of sages went there and attained supreme accomplishment.

Verse 2 (skanda.5.268.2)

तत्र तीर्थे तु यः स्नात्वा भोजयेद्ब्राह्मणाञ्छुचिः। एकस्मिन्भोजिते विप्रे कोटिर्भवति भोजिता।

tatra tīrthe tu yaḥ snātvā bhojayedbrāhmaṇāñchuciḥ| ekasminbhojite vipre koṭirbhavati bhojitā||

Whoever bathes there at that tirtha, pure, and feeds brahmins - by feeding a single brahmin, a crore are considered fed.

Verse 3 (skanda.5.268.3)

तत्र तीर्थे तु यः स्नात्वा पूजयेत्पितृदेवताः। पूजिते तु महादेवे वाजपेयफलं लभेत्।

tatra tīrthe tu yaḥ snātvā pūjayetpitṛdevatāḥ| pūjite tu mahādeve vājapeyaphalaṁ labhet||

Whoever bathes there at that tirtha and worships the ancestor-deities - by worshipping Mahadeva there, one obtains the fruit of the Vajapeya sacrifice.
