The Glory of Satyabhameshvara

Verse 1 (skanda.7.157.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि सत्यभामेश्वरं शुभम्। रत्नेश्वराद्दक्षिणे तु धनुषांतरमास्थितम्

īśvara uvāca| tato gacchenmahādevi satyabhāmeśvaraṁ śubham| ratneśvarāddakṣiṇe tu dhanuṣāṁtaramāsthitam

Ishvara said: Then, O great Goddess, one should go to the auspicious Satyabhameshvara, situated to the south of Ratneshvara at the distance of one bow-length.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.157.2)

सर्वपापप्रशमनं स्थापितं सत्यभामया। कृष्णस्य कान्तया देवि रूपौदार्यसमेतया

sarvapāpapraśamanaṁ sthāpitaṁ satyabhāmayā| kṛṣṇasya kāntayā devi rūpaudāryasametayā

O Goddess, that all-sin-quelling linga was established there by Satyabhama, the beloved of Krishna, endowed with beauty and generosity.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.157.3)

स्नात्वा तद्वैष्णवं स्थानं नृणां पातकनाशनम्

snātvā tadvaiṣṇavaṁ sthānaṁ nṛṇāṁ pātakanāśanam

Bathing at that Vaishnava site destroys the sins of men.

Verse 4 (skanda.7.157.4)

माघे मासि तृतीयायां नारी वा पुरुषोऽपि वा। यस्तं पूजयते भक्त्या स मुक्तः पातकैर्भवेत्

māghe māsi tṛtīyāyāṁ nārī vā puruṣo'pi vā| yastaṁ pūjayate bhaktyā sa muktaḥ pātakairbhavet

On the third day of the month of Magha, whichever woman or man worships him with devotion becomes freed from sins.

Verse 5 (skanda.7.157.5)

दौर्भाग्यदुःखशोकेभ्यस्तथा विघ्नैश्च दुःखितः। मुच्यते नात्र संदेहः सत्यभामान्वितो भवेत्

daurbhāgyaduḥkhaśokebhyastathā vighnaiśca duḥkhitaḥ| mucyate nātra saṁdehaḥ satyabhāmānvito bhavet

One afflicted by misfortune, sorrow, grief, and obstacles is freed from them, without doubt, and comes to share the presence of Satyabhama.
