The Splendour of Gaja-tirtha

Verse 1 (skanda.7.428.1)

॥ पुलस्त्य उवाच ॥ ततो गच्छेन्नृपश्रेष्ठ गजतीर्थमनुत्तमम् । यत्र पूर्वं तपस्तप्तं दिग्गजैर्भावितात्मभिः

pulastya uvāca | tato gacchennṛpaśreṣṭha gajatīrthamanuttamam | yatra pūrvaṁ tapastaptaṁ diggajairbhāvitātmabhiḥ

Pulastya said: Then, O best of kings, one should go to the unsurpassed Gaja-tirtha, where austerity was formerly performed by the elephants of the directions, of purified soul.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.428.2)

भूभारधरणैश्चान्यैरैरावणमुखैर्नृप । तत्र स्नातो नरः सम्यग्गजदानफलं लभेत्

bhūbhāradharaṇaiścānyairairāvaṇamukhairnṛpa | tatra snāto naraḥ samyaggajadānaphalaṁ labhet

— and by other bearers of the earth's burden, headed by Airavata, O king. A man who duly bathes there obtains the fruit of the gift of an elephant.
