प्रज्ञादः

प्रज्ञा के दाता, जो उस उच्चतर बुद्धि को प्रदान करते हैं जो उपस्थितियों को भेदकर उस सत्य को देखती है जो सभी अनुभव के नीचे है

प्रज्ञाद दत्तात्रेय को प्रज्ञा (बुद्धि) के दाता नाम देता है। 'प्रज्ञा' जानने की एक विशिष्ट गुणवत्ता है: साधारण बुद्धि नहीं बल्कि वह भेदक बुद्धि जो सीधे विषय के केन्द्र तक जाती है। योग सूत्र (1.48) में उच्चतम समाधि अवस्था को 'ऋतम्भरा प्रज्ञा' (सत्य-वाहक बुद्धि) कहा जाता है।
